What is Vortex Press, LLC?
Vortex Press, LLC is a small, but growing, publishing company dedicated to helping authors migrate their path of story to finished book.
Authors fall into three categories:
Experienced
New—Market Driven
Hobbyist
A serious professional author with multiple books.
A serious author beginning their career seeking help in navigating the publishing process
An author wanting their book to be seen by friends and loved ones with no intention of marketing for profit.

Vortex Press, LLC is here to help the New—Market Driven author by providing guidance, resources, and facilitation in the publishing steps.
The publishing process begins after the author has completed all levels of editing, including a professional edit of the manuscript. Although Grammerly and Prowriting Aid programs are helpful initial edits to catch the many grammatical, spelling, overused words, etc., these programs will not catch acceptable word errors such as “he” when the author meant “she”, etc.
Additionally, these programs will not ensure the emotion of the story is maintained nor appropriate pacing. A reputable professional editor, while an additional cost, provides a new author with education and polish to aid the path to developing a following of readers.
At this point we are here to help with cover design, back cover description, manuscript formatting, possible illustrations (not children’s books), and file uploads. Additionally, we can assist the author in defining their launch timeline if there is a desire to obtain editorial reviews prior to launch.
We currently only work with the following: Historical Fiction, Romance (no erotica), Cosy Mysteries, and Memoirs.
All pre and post launch marketing is the responsibility of the author. We do not have those services available, at this time.
